Wedding Peg Doll Personalised Gift

 I’m sure you all know by now I love commissions that involves creating a wedding peg doll or two!

So when my business friend Stacey, the amazing clay artist behind Stacey’s World, got in touch to ask if I could make her a special wedding gift she got a big thumbs up from me. Her friends had recently got married, enjoying a dream destination wedding. With this in mind I knew this would be a fun wedding peg doll set to work on!

The bride was photographed wearing a really light and elegant dress. Its’ simplicity was perfect for all that sunshine and heat I bet! She also had a gorgeous bunch of colourful gerberas. Such happy and bright flowers!

There were lots of lovely details that really helped me to personalise her wedding peg doll. The bride wore quite distinctive glasses, which always helps. In addition to this, she had a beautiful sparkly tiara which was lovely to recreate. She also was wearing pearl and crystal necklace, and a pearl bracelet and earrings set. Any opportunity to bust out my specialised pearl and crystal finishes is a great one in my books!

It really was a lovely commission to work on. It was refreshing to create the peg dolls as a gift AFTER the wedding day and to be able to work from such lovely, happy photos!

Personalised Peg Dolls ~ Bold and Beautiful

When my lovely Instagram and creativepreneur friend Sharon asked if I could create her a set of personalised peg dolls I jumped at the chance!

Tucked away on the beautiful coast high up in Scotland, Sharon creates beautiful needle-felted art and pin badges as Ria Melin.  You can see her gorgeous work in her Etsy shop here. As always, it was an honour to be asked to make something for a fellow creative soul.

The set I created for her consists of herself and her partner, her parents and her gorgeous Shitzu Zelda.

One of Sharon’s most infamous products are her Highland Cow pins, and I paid a little tribute to this with a teeny little cow on her cardigan.

Sharon sent pictures of her favourite pink top and orange cardigan for herself, but left it up to me to decide what to create on her mum’s doll. The reference photos for her Mum’s clothing included stripes and pink. So I combined the two and opted for pink stripes, tying the two ladies together nicely and reflecting the bond and love they share.personalised peg dolls, peg doll, peg dolls, customised, personalised gift, unique gift

All in all, the family’s clothes were quite plain pattern-wise. Nevertheless the bright, vivid colours worked really well despite this. As a result, this demonstrates that despite my mantra when you order being “patterns work best”, the peg dolls look lovely what ever your style.

The bold blue and pink colours repeated through the dolls helped tie them together as a set.

It’s no secret that I’m a cat person, and at any time my clothing consists of approximately 85% cat hair. However, Zelda is the dog that could convert me to being a dog person! She is THE CUTEST little dog I have ever seen. Look at her adorable little face! Such a sweetheart. It was a pleasure to create her little wooden personalised peg doll twin!

Seeing Double ~ Peg Doll Twinsies

Please do not adjust your sets, peg doll lovers….you are NOT seeing double!

This was a beautiful request for two identical, matching peg doll couples. They were a special birthday request for a lovely couple who currently live at opposite ends of the country. Mum wanted two identical sets, so that both her son and his girlfriend each now has a set to keep at with them at home. Such a thoughtful gift, and a very romantic idea!

There were lots of lovely details on this set. The lady peg doll had a pretty black dress embroidered with hundreds of tiny flowers. They took forever to draw and colour by hand, especially having to do them twice over! But it was very much worth it. I really loved her specs too, there was such a fab shape to the frames! Glasses are always tricky, managing to burn each side equally is always a challenge. This time of course that challenge was doubled and I had 4 lenses to get right.

The guy peg doll also had some lovely touches! As a big Swansea City Football supporter, a match day programme was popped in his back pocket. A subtle nod to his home team.

His denim shirt  also was lovely to work on, with unusual floral motifs on the front and back.

A super-trendy, lovely little couple that was a total pleasure to work on. Both times!

Personalised Peg Dolls – Football Fever for Father’s Day?

Stuck for an idea for Father’s day? Is your guy the man who has got everything? Then why not get him a truly unique present this year that he’ll treasure forever?! Our personalised peg dolls fit the bill, and can be decorated with his favourite teams’ strip.

It’s so much fun drawing the tiny team emblems and logos on the little kits. These Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday ones below were great to work on.

I was happy to take create this little personalised peg doll for a Spurs fan from his girlfriend,

I’ve created a fair few dolls for Swansea City fans; I put it down to being based in Wales! This doll below was a special thank you gift for a teacher at the end of the school year from a grateful pupil, before she moved on to Comprehensive school. What a really lovely way to say thank you for playing such an important part in her last year of Primary School.

All we need to make your own personalised football peg doll is a head shot of your loved one and some pictures or links to his chosen team’s kit. It’s really that simple. And of course, any sport goes too! It needn’t just be a football kit or team strip. Rugby, cricket, indoor bowls…. whatever floats his boat!

Wedding Peg Dolls with a 1920’s Twist

Every request for a set of personalised wedding peg dolls is super exciting, but especially when my lovely customers would like something different! Celine and Jo got in touch asking if I’d be able to make a set for them, and when I saw that gorgeous 1920’s style flapper outfits were involved, I of course jumped at the opportunity! Even more exciting was the fact that Jo is a super creative artist, and had designed the art work for their invites. Rather than working from photos, they were wondering if I’d be able to recreate her amazing artwork into peg doll forms of themselves!

I absolutely loved the fun portrait of them. What an absolute treat to be able to work from such a brilliant, fun and colourful original piece of art!

I truly loved working on the amazing little details on their wedding peg dolls! The flowers and feathers in their hair and the colourful spectacles. The scarves and feather boa, the pleats and beads. Not to mention the bright colours! If this pair of peg dolls is anything to go by, their special day was going to be nothing short of fabulous!
